  • Where: Dallas–Fort Worth & nearby counties

  • Who: Dog-owning families in short-term hardship (hospitalization, shelter stay, eviction/transition, disaster, safety)

  • How long: Typically 3–14 nights (more case-by-case as funding and placements allow)

  • How payment works: We pay partner facilities/fosters directly. No cash to individuals.

  • Review time: Usually 24–72 hrs (urgent placements prioritized)

How Temporary Boarding Works

  • Apply online (≈10 minutes). Choose Temporary Boarding and tell us dates/urgency.

  • Triage & Match. We contact partner boarding facilities or rescue fosters to find a safe, available placement.

  • Verify & Confirm. We confirm nightly rate or foster availability, share drop-off instructions, and collect any needed signatures (boarding consent & vet authorization).

  • Drop-off/Transport. You drop off your dog (transport may be possible case-by-case via partners).

  • Stay & Updates. Your dog is cared for by the partner. We handle vendor payments; you remain reachable.

  • Reunite. When you’re ready, we coordinate pick-up and close out the stay.

  • We can combine support: a few paid kennel nights → foster, or foster → boarding, depending on what’s available.

What We Provide

  1. Short-term kennel boarding with vetted partners or placement with a screened rescue foster

  2. Basic care: feeding, water, safe housing, daily checks

  3. Medication administration (if reasonable and instructions provided)

  4. Coordination with a low-cost vet if vaccines/health checks are required for admission

  5. Direct payment to the partner (facility, rescue, or foster org)

  6. What’s usually not covered: long-term daycare/boarding past the approved window; training packages; luxury add-ons; damages; elective procedures unrelated to safe boarding.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Vaccines: Rabies and core vaccines are preferred. If you don’t have records, tell us—we’ll coordinate a quick vet visit when possible.

  • Behavior: Dogs must be safe for staff/fosters to handle. Known bite risk or severe aggression may be ineligible for foster placement and limited to specialized facilities (if available).

  • Medical needs: Share any meds, allergies, or special diet. We try to match safe care.

  • Intact dogs: OK; we’ll note it for placement.

What You’ll Need to Upload (if you have it)

  • Proof of hardship (one of: medical note/admission, eviction/notice, police/safety note, disaster report)

  • Proof you own the dog (vet record, microchip, adoption docs, or clear photos)

  • Vaccination/medical records (or clinic info so we can confirm)

  • A recent photo of your dog

No perfect paperwork? Apply anyway. Screenshots are OK.

Typical Support & Limits

  • We focus on short, crisis windows. Many stays are 3–7 nights; up to 14+ as funding/placements allow.

  • Financial support generally aligns with our assistance policy (we often contribute up to $250 toward boarding costs; more case-by-case and when partners discount).

  • You may be asked to contribute if costs exceed our cap—we’ll try to combine partner discounts, your contribution, and other aid.

Special Circumstances

  • Domestic violence/safety: We prioritize confidentiality and safe drop-off. We do not share addresses of foster homes.

  • Hospitalization: If dates are unknown, we approve an initial window and extend case-by-case.

  • Multiple dogs: We try to keep bonded pairs together; availability may affect placement.

Your Responsibility

Be reachable by phone/text while your dog is placed.

  1. Provide accurate info on your dog’s behavior/health.

  2. Follow drop-off/pick-up windows.

  3. Supply current food/meds if you can (helps with special diets).

  4. Cover any costs beyond approved support (e.g., damages, extra nights not approved).

  • Urgent cases are prioritized; placement depends on partner availability. We aim for 24–72 hrs when possible.

  • Boarding facilities may allow visits; foster homes typically do not. We’ll share the partner’s policy.

  • Tell us ASAP. We’ll reassess funding and availability. Long-term boarding is generally not available.

  • Not yet. If you’re outside the area, we’ll try to refer you to partners or combine with our vet aid program if medical care is the primary need.

  • We are dog-focused. Other pets may be case-by-case through partner organizations.

  • We work with screened rescues and vetted volunteers. We share updates when possible and keep foster addresses private for safety.
