One vet bill should not cost a family their dog. We make sure it never does.
Urgent Veterinary Assistance
When a family cannot afford the vet bill that stands between their dog and survival, Second Leash Foundation pays the clinic directly. No middlemen. No delays. The dog gets care.
Program 02
Our Veterinary Assistance
Program pays veterinary clinics directly for emergency and urgent medical care for dogs belonging to families in financial crisis. The money goes from Second Leash Foundation to the veterinarian. It never passes through the family's hands.
This structure matters. Paying providers directly is how we guarantee that every dollar does exactly what a donor intended. It is also how we build trust with the veterinary community, clinics know they will be paid, which means they can say yes to families they might otherwise have to turn away.
